Our girls are well disciplined, intelligent and full of talent with moral values like honesty, truthfulness, sharing & caring inculcated from the beginning to make them better citizens. Five batches of our girls have completed Matriculation through BBOSE (Bihar Board Of Open Schooling), and NIOS while three batches have completed Plus 2 through Bihar Board. We are proud to record that out of these five batches, all but one candidate have secured First Division.

Our aim is to create a better future for those girls, whose childhood is spent in drudgery and whose tomorrow is shrouded in darkness. Since 2009, we have been working on this issue, through shelter, education, food, and care, starting with 20 rag-picker girls. Initially, they were shy, rebellious, and unresponsive, but after a couple of months, they began to turn around and since then, there was no looking back for us. We began with in-house teaching and opened our own school, viz. Sister Nivedita Balika Vidyalaya in 2011. It was registered under RTE by State Government in 2013 and was converted into a residential school in 2014. After running for almost 8 years in rented premises, we have finally shifted to our own building at Sarai on the rural outskirts of Patna in 2019. The School is now semi-residential, having formal classes up to Std VIII and in-house classes for Std IX & X. We follow Bihar Board Curriculum. The school now has 120 boarders and 65 day scholars, all belonging to the lowest socio-economic stratum. Our boarders consist of rag pickers, orphans, homeless girls, and daughters of marginal laborers, mostly with only one parent alive. We offer free education with free boarding, lodging, uniform & clothing, healthcare, and multiple development opportunities.
